Ok, we promise, nay pledge, this will be our last election related Breaking Ad... at least until Monday anyway.

As millions of newspaper readers devour the results, analysis, predictions, editorial, opinion pieces, interviews, maps and graphs related to last night's General Election it's a perfect time for Felix to launch this timley and topical ad.

The iconic black and white cat is sat outside Number 10 under the tag line:

"We have a new leader."

The prospect of a cartoon cat leading the nation instead of Tony Blair may or may not appeal - but of course Felix aren't talking about the election, but of their new position as "the UK's leading single serve cat food."

Add to this fun, topical ad the great placement:

on the election results page, and the relevant context lends further strength to a strong ad.

The famous monochrome moggy is a perfect fit for newspapers, a predominantly black and white medium.  And no wonder they return to advertise in national newspapers after the medium saved the brand from the chop in the 1980s.

You can read more in our Case Study.

Topical, well placed and good fun this is our Breaking Ad of the day.

This ad appeared in newspapers in the UK.
