Opportunistic or tactical advertising is easier than you think.

Newspapers deliver news and analysis on a daily basis but many times the subject matter can be anticipated well in advance. Not least today's state visit by President Roh of South Korea to the United Kingdom.

Not one, two, or even three, but four advertisers today took advantage of this news by creating tailored and tactical adverts to hook onto the editorial generated by President Roh's visit.

This ad from Hyundai, while simple in its creative, is noticeable thanks to the timely and relevant 'headline';

"To a great relationship - we truly welcome President Roh Moo-Hyun and his summit talk with Prime Minister Tony Blair"

Hyundai's announcement of their involvement in the successful corporate relationship between the two countries is echoed by other internationals - Samsung, Kia Motors and LG Mobile;

In an environment where editorial is being dedicated to the state visit (including a special supplement in The Times), this simple yet tactical and enticing advertising from Hyundai makes it our Breaking Ad of the day.
